If you want to calculate marks for any other exams, then use

If you have recently appeared for the NEET Exam, you need not wait for weeks to check your NEET score. You can use this NEET Marks Calculator to check your raw score out of 720.

Just enter your correct and incorrect attempts. Our NEET Score Calculator will instantly show you a subject-wise breakdown along with your total score after negative marking.

Official NTA NEET Marking Scheme

The calculator is based on the official evaluation matrix set by the National Testing Agency. The paper has 200 questions across Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology — candidates attempt a maximum of 180.

Answer Evaluation Type Score Assignment Impact on Rank
Correct Option Selected +4 Marks Increases overall score
Incorrect Option Selected -1 Mark Triggers negative marking penalty
Unattempted / Blank Question 0 Marks No effect on score

How to Calculate NEET Marks with Negative Marking

To calculate your NEET Score, you need to multiply your correct attempts by 4 and your incorrect attempts by 1. Then, subtract the total negative marks from the total positive marks.

Follow the formula below:

Formula
Total Score = (Correct Answers × 4) − (Incorrect Answers × 1)

Step-by-Step Scoring Example

A student attempts 165 out of 180 questions with this breakdown:

Example Calculation

Correct Answers: 140 responses → 140 × 4 = 560 marks

Incorrect Answers: 25 responses → 25 × 1 = 25 marks deducted

Unattempted Questions: 15 responses → 0 marks

Final Calculation: 560 − 25 = 535 out of 720 marks

Manual calculation is easy to miscalculate. If you get even a single number wrong, your whole calculation will be off. So, take an extra look when you are calculating on your own.

Otherwise, you can skip manual calculation and use our NEET Marks Calculator. Our tool handles the calculation automatically using the formula the NTA follows during the official evaluation.

What This Calculator Does

  1. Two modes — Subject-wise and Overall. Pick whichever matches how you remember your attempts.
  2. Subject-wise mode lets you enter Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology separately.
  3. Botany and Zoology are automatically added up into one combined Biology score.
  4. After calculating, you can see your positive marks, deductions, and total attempts in one place.
  5. The accuracy bar tells you if your guessing hurts you — red is bad, green means you were careful.
  6. Click View Subject Breakdown to get a detailed scorecard for every subject.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a calculator allowed in the NEET exam?

No. The NTA strictly prohibits electronic gadgets such as calculators, smartwatches, and log tables. All rough work must be done by hand in the space provided inside the test booklet.

Do unattempted questions result in negative marking?

No. Skipping a question carries zero penalty. Negative marking is only triggered when you physically mark a wrong option on the OMR sheet.

What happens if the NTA drops a question?

When the NTA identifies a flawed or technically incorrect question post-exam, it drops the question entirely. Every candidate receives full marks (+4) for that item — attempted or not.
